A Growing Partnership: With Nokia We Have Completed Over 90 Projects in the Region in Less Than Three Years

A relationship that was born in 2019 and made us strategic allies
A Relationship Built on Trust
The partnership began in the 2010s, with a focus on Uruguay. Toward the end of 2019, Nokia entrusted us with the implementation of a DWDM network for an important client in Argentina.
Around 2021, the opportunity arose to collaborate on the design of a network that brought internet access to remote communities in Peru, as well as on the integration of transport network equipment for a major telecommunications operator in Colombia. From that point on, our role in Nokia-led projects began to grow. Today, we have carried out projects across nearly all of Latin America.
What Solutions Emerge from This Partnership?
In Uruguay, the solutions we provide through Nokia include system integration (installation and commissioning of Nokia equipment, software and server upgrades) and on-site local support.
For the region, in addition to system integration, we also provide managed services. These tasks encompass the entire IP network design cycle, as well as platforms, which include the management, coordination, and monitoring of projects.
Notable Projects
Peru and the Network Connecting 1,700 Remote Locations
Under Nokia's leadership, we participated in the design of the architecture of a massive fiber optic network that provides internet access to nearly one million residents in the Amazon and the Andes. This network spans 7,500 kilometers and connects 1,700 locations in the departments of Ancash, Arequipa, La Libertad, and San Martin in Peru.
Thanks to this initiative, communities in locations that are difficult to reach through traditional solutions, as well as critical services (such as health centers, educational institutions, and police stations), are now connected to the internet.
Mexico and One of the Largest Telecommunications Companies
Building on the experience gained in Peru, Nokia entrusted us with the design of the architecture of a data transport network that traverses Mexico from north to south and east to west, for one of the most prominent telecommunications multinationals in the country.
The project, whose implementation phase is nearing completion, ensures smooth data traffic transport for its more than 20 million customers across the territory, which is equivalent to nearly one-sixth of the total population.
Uruguay and the Country's Largest Data Network
For this initiative, we worked together on the design, implementation, expansion, and support of the country's largest high-capacity transport network, owned by one of the telecommunications companies with the highest market share nationwide.
This is a high-capacity network, handling different types of traffic and a large volume of transport. Its proper implementation and operation enables everything from residential internet access (for example, a person watching a movie from home) to banking and financial institutions managing their customer data and transactions in the cloud. At the same time, it lays the groundwork for the arrival of 5G in Uruguay.
Panama and Its Preparation for 5G
Recently, we began working on the redesign of the network of a telecommunications operator with a presence in 9 Latin American countries, in preparation for the implementation of the 5G network in Panama.
The imminent arrival of 5G in the region, which in some cases is already a reality, will bring multiple benefits, such as higher speeds, greater bandwidth, more connected devices, and lower latency, among others.
How Do the Parties Involved Evaluate This Partnership?
According to Flavio Azevedo, NDE & NI IP Manager for South America, Nokia always seeks the most serious and committed companies. "Not only in the technical context, but also in soft skills. It is necessary to be proactive, empathetic, and to meet agreed deadlines. In this way, in our relationship with our service providers, we look for a technology partner," he states.
He considers it key to surround yourself "with the best companies that share this vision and purpose of delivering good service to the end customer. After all, our partners are the 'face' of Nokia for the customer; for us, quality comes first."
According to Azevedo, we have positioned ourselves over the years as "a reliable partner, contributing enormously to the success of each project, both at the technical level and in the relationship with customers and in meeting deadlines. The satisfaction of our end customers and the quality of product and service delivery are the best indicators of the success of this partnership."
For his part, Juan Jose Rodriguez, NDE & NI IP Manager for Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, referred to the collaboration as "a solid alliance focused on outstanding technical results and the human aspect. Isbel not only delivers high-quality services but also strives to build strong relationships."
"They have demonstrated constant dedication in every project, with special attention to every detail to achieve the objectives set as a team," Rodriguez stated. He added: "I highlight their commitment and professionalism as an invaluable asset to our team, and I look forward to continuing our collaboration."
From our team, more than 20 people have been involved during this period, with more than 70 projects in total and the participation of professionals specialized in different areas.
For Agustin Barriola, our Engineering Services Leader: "The partnership with Nokia has allowed us to be present in challenging projects at scales that are not typical for our country. This not only enabled us to gain significant experience but also allowed us to grow professionally in preparation for new challenges and territories."
