Cutting-Edge Technology in HSBC's Hybrid Meeting Rooms

The project, a pioneer in the country and atypical due to its scale, consisted of the installation of 14 collaboration rooms, with the deployment of 8 videoconferencing units and 6 touch-enabled devices, along with the touch controllers for the screens.
HSBC is one of the world's largest financial services and banking organizations. In Uruguay, the bank has 260 employees, operates in 8 branches, and serves 50,000 clients from both local and international markets.
It is the first fully digital bank in the country, seeking to break away from the rigid schedules of other local banks. In 2022, it took on the challenge of relocating its headquarters to the 30th floor of Tower 4 at the World Trade Center in Montevideo, adopting a new business office model that offers greater flexibility to its employees in terms of both working hours and space layout. This headquarters features open collaborative spaces with no private offices for managers.
With an investment of USD 1,500,000, the office is designed to reduce the carbon footprint and meet the bank's highest and most modern standards, matching the group's offices in Mexico, New York, and Singapore.
The Project
To align with the latest hybrid work trends and comply with the group's standard for room integration, HSBC decided to incorporate state-of-the-art technology into its collaboration rooms. The objective was to improve image and sound quality in meetings and enable effective collaboration among employees, including those working remotely from home.
To achieve this, they sought the support of Isbel to facilitate the implementation of a solution together with our partner Neat, a Norwegian brand considered top-of-the-line.
Technology to Facilitate Work
The installation of Neat technology carried out by our team met HSBC's quality standards. The perception of employees and users regarding the collaboration rooms improved significantly, with the rooms now considered high-quality and technologically superior compared to those of other companies in the sector.
With the new rooms, it is very easy to hold hybrid meetings between people located in the offices and those joining from their homes or other locations.
One of the capabilities of Neat equipment also proved particularly useful: Neat Symmetry, which individually frames all room attendees so they appear equally sized and closer on screen, allowing remote participants to better see each person.
An additional feature that generates enthusiasm among room users is the ability to share laptop content to the screens via ultrasound, without the need for cables, simply by bringing the devices close together.
How Does the Bank Evaluate the Experience?
"The installation was flawless and matched the overall quality of the equipment. Users perceive that they are using high-quality rooms and take greater care of them.
One of the functionalities that sparks the most curiosity among users is the ability to bring a laptop close to share content, as well as the split-camera feature during video calls, with active tracking of participants as they move."
What Did This Project Mean for Isbel?
We presented a comprehensive and detailed proposal, supported by planning, project management, and collaboration with other parties (such as architects). Our solution, featuring Neat technology, met the quality and functionality expectations set by the bank.
The challenges we faced in this context included meeting HSBC's quality standards and ensuring that the installation was completed properly and on time. The support provided from the client's first inquiry through to the end of the project was key to its success.
