On June 11 and 12, we participated in hashtag#ConectaColombia, one of the leading telco forums in the region, where the CTOs of ETB, Telefonica Movistar, Claro, and Tigo Colombia shared their visions on the future of connectivity in Colombia.

Although 5G deployment is advancing (already at 14% penetration), the panel agreed that significant challenges remain: closing 3G/4G coverage gaps, ensuring operational sustainability, and evolving toward Techco models.

Some of the most noteworthy points:

The need to move toward hybrid infrastructure (fixed + mobile) and regulation more aligned with investment realities.
New digital revenue streams: IoT, cybersecurity, edge computing, and alliances with hyperscalers such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
The role of operators as orchestrators of digital solutions that impact key sectors such as agriculture, energy, and logistics.
